Key-Wound Mantel Clocks, 613-559 Webster by Howard Miller, feature an arch molding that crowns the case. Two triangular rare crotch mahogany and movingue overlays accent the dial.
The impressive dial features intricate vine pattern and dentil molding trims the base, which is supported by round brass feet. They present with a hand-rubbed, Windsor Cherry finish on select hardwoods and veneers.
Howard Miller Webster Mantel Clocks 613-559 showcase the German Kieninger, key-wound, triple-chime movement that plays your choice of Westminster, St. Michael, or Whittington 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 chimes accordingly with full chime and strike on the hour. We've written an article on clock chimes for more interesting information and history on these wonderful chimes.
These key-wound mechanical mantel clocks are wound with the provided key once a week. The middle winding arbor winds a spring that powers the time function. The right winding arbor (as you face the clock) winds the spring that powers the quarter-chime function. Lastly, the left winding arbor winds the spring that powers the hour strikes. We've written an article on how clocks work for some more interesting information.
The Webster also includes a chime silence option and durable bronze bushings.
An industry exclusive dual-ratchet winding arbor ensures safe movement winding for these impressive mechanical key-wind mantel clocks.
