Howard Miller Stratford Grandfather Clocks 611-132 feature a distinctively stepped swan neck pediment with book matched olive ash burl, a carved finial, rosettes and a decorative vine and shell overlay.  It features a Hampton Cherry finish on select hardwoods and veneers is heavily distressed with light and deep dents for an aged appearance.  Our staff loves the swan neck and the aged appearance because we feel it adds charm and character.

The brushed nickel-finished dial features corner and center ornaments and includes a silver chapter ring with applied satin black Arabic numerals. A moon arch with an astrological blue moon phase contains a special "Ambassador Collection" inscription within the hemispheres.  Our staff love moon dials on grandfather clocks because they add a functional accent.

The brushed nickel-finished pendulum features a center disk to complement the dial. Brushed nickel finished weight shells include bands which coordinate with the dial and pendulum.  The pendulum is an important part of the clock and helps regulate the speed.  Similarly, the weights are also an important part and are what power the clock.  The middle weight powers the time and the pendulum.  The left weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the hour strikes.  Lastly, the right weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the quarter chimes. We've written an article on how clocks work for some more interesting information. 

The upper front door can be easily opened so that the movement can be wound, and the time set easily. Removable fret-cut top side panels with glass allow for easy access to the movement.  Our staff loves having easy access to the movement because it is helpful for maintenance.  

The lower front door features a stylish beveled glass with a carved molding located between the doors. The use of beveled glass continues in the bottom sides.

Large reeded columns, featuring carved column caps, frame the doors. The distinctive, multi-tiered Bomb´e base includes a carved molding below the door and a decorative cutout.

Howard Miller Stratford Grandfather Clocks showcase the German Kieninger, cable-driven, triple-chime movement that plays your choice of Westminster, St. Michael, or Whittington 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 chimes accordingly with full chime and strike on the hour.  We've written an article on clock chimes for more interesting information and history on these wonderful chimes.  

Automatic nighttime chime shut-off option, which some people love because they don't hear it chime while they sleep.  Yet other people want to hear the clock chime all of the time.  Our experience is that the clock chimes are something that you get used to and will come to enjoy.

Adjustable levelers under each corner of these grandfather clocks provide stability on uneven and carpeted floors.
