Description

Chimes quarter-hours & strikes the hours.

Traditional Howard Miller Schultz Grandfather Clocks 611-044 feature rare, bookmatched olive ash burl and a raised shell and vine overlay which enhances the graceful bonnet pediment.  It is finished in Golden Oak on select hardwoods and veneers.

Olive ash burl corner overlays frame the crystal-cut oval glass on the lower door, providing a striking view of the pendulum and weights.  Our staff loves the oval glass on the lower door because it presents a unique and timeless look.

The polished brass-finished dial offers elaborate corner spandrels, a center disk, a silver chapter ring with applied brass Arabic numerals, and an astrological moon phase dial.

The polished brass-finished pendulum includes a center disk that complements the dial and coordinates with the banded, polished-brass weight shells.  The pendulum is an important part of the clock and helps regulate the speed.  Similarly, the weights are also an important part and are what power the clock.  The middle weight powers the time and the pendulum.  The left weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the hour strikes.  Lastly, the right weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the quarter chimes. We've written an article on how clocks work for some more interesting information.

Elaborately carved, reeded columns with turned top and bottom caps and carved oval appliques enhance the front view of the clock. The multitiered base features a decorative cutout.

Removable beveled glass top side panels allow easy access to the movement. Our staff loves double-door designs, and we love having easy access to the movement because it is helpful for maintenance.  The side lower glass is also beveled.

Howard Miller Schultz Grandfather Clocks showcase the German Kieninger, cable-driven, triple-chime movement that plays your choice of Westminster, St. Michael, or Whittington 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 chimes accordingly with full chime and strike on the hour.  We've written an article on clock chimes for more interesting information and history on these wonderful chimes.

Automatic nighttime chime shut-off option, which some people love because they don't hear it chime while they sleep.  Yet other people want to hear the clock chime all of the time.  Our experience is that the clock chimes are something that you get used to and will come to enjoy.

Adjustable levelers under each corner of these grandfather clocks provide stability on uneven and carpeted floors.

Free brass Heirloom nameplate will be engraved with your name and special date.  This is something you can send in for and we definitely recommend.  These grandfather clocks can become heirloom timepieces if properly taken care of and the nameplate will add to the memory for future generations.

Free Heirloom Record Document with brass-finished capsule is included.  Again, this is another neat idea because this will add more meaning for future generations.

The case is illuminated by an interior light.

Locking door for added security.
