The Howard Miller Eisenhower Presidential Grandfather Clock 611-066 has many outstanding features. The swan neck pediment displays bookmatched crotch figured veneers framed with a V-matched movingue border. The pediment is further enhanced with three turned urn finials, carved rosettes, and an inlaid keystone with the "Prince of Wales" motif using maple, padauk, amaranth, and ebony veneers on a madrona burl background.  Our staff loves the enhancement the three finials add to the pediment.

The elaborate dial features raised brass Arabic numerals, cast center and corner ornaments, and a moon phase with exclusive Presidential Collection hemispheres.  These two features are nice additional touches the manufacturer included for this clock.

The polished brass-finished pendulum has a cast center disk which complements the dial. In addition, the polished brass-finished weight shells feature decorative bands.  The pendulum is an important part of the clock and helps regulate the speed.  Similarly, the weights are also an important part and are what power the clock.  The middle weight powers the time and the pendulum.  The left weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the hour strikes.  Lastly, the right weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the quarter chimes.  We've written an article on how clocks work for some more interesting information.

The front door offers beveled glass. Top side doors have beveled glass and offer access to the movement and storage of the hand crank and door key.  It is so nice to have easy access to the movement for maintenance.

Four impressive columns feature large reeds and boldly carved caps that frame the distinctive door and adjoin the pediment to the base.  We absolutely love the columns and feel that they give this Howard Miller Eisenhower grandfather clock a presence.

The multi-tiered "bombe" base features canted corners with a carved molding that wraps around the entire base. A decorative cut-out completes the base.

A Howard Miller Heirloom capsule with a certificate is included for documenting the clock history for future generations.  This this such a thoughtful idea because this will add more meaning for future generations.

Automatic nighttime chime shut-off option.  Some people love this feature so they don't hear it chime while they sleep.  Yet other people want to hear the clock chime all of the time.  Our experience is that the clock chimes are something that you get used to and will come to enjoy.

Adjustable levelers under each corner of these grandfather clocks provide stability on uneven and carpeted floors.
