Arendal Grandfather Clock 611-005

Influenced by Scandinavian design, these contemporary Howard Miller Arendal Grandfather Clocks 611-005 are a unique addition to the Furniture Trend Designs Collection and one of our best sellers.  Indeed, our staff absolutely loves the Scandinavian design of this Howard Miller grandfather clock.  The Arendal presents Tuscany Cherry finish on select hardwoods and veneers is lightly distressed for an aged appearance.

Special details include a convex glass crystal on the hinged top door, decorative carved accents, and a turned urn finial to provide the crowning touch. The finial and finial base are removable.  We feel the Arendal looks great with or without the removable finial and base.

Aged to match the era, the antiqued dial offers Roman numerals, black serpentine hands, and a separate track for counting seconds.

The weight shells are finished in brushed, antique brass, which is echoed by the circular brushed antique brass bob on the wood pendulum.  The pendulum is an important part of the clock and helps regulate the speed.  Similarly, the weights are also an important part and are what power the clock.  The middle weight powers the time and the pendulum.  The left weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the hour strikes.  Lastly, the right weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the quarter chimes.  We've written an article on how clocks work for some more interesting information.

Beveled glass on the mid-door defines the clock′s curved shape, and a decorative cutout and carvings enhance the sculpted base.  Again, we love the curved shape of this grandfather clock.

Access to the movement is in the back, which is important for maintenance.

Automatic nighttime chime shut-off option, which some people love because they don't hear it chime while they sleep.  Yet other people want to hear the clock chime all of the time.  Our experience is that the clock chimes are something that you get used to and will come to enjoy.

Adjustable levelers under each corner of these grandfather clocks provide stability on uneven and carpeted floors.

Locking door for added security.
