Traditional Howard Miller Stewart Grandfather Clocks 610-948 are finished in Windsor Cherry on select hardwoods and veneers.

These beautiful traditional grandfather clocks feature an elegant swan neck pediment accented with decorative rosettes and matching keystone finial support, a turned finial, and crotch-figured mahogany.  The pediment is the top part of the case and we have always felt that the swan neck was a classy accent.

A special cast dial offers elaborate corner spandrels and center disc and an astrological blue moon phase.  Our staff loves moon dials because they add such an interesting functional aspect to grandfather clocks.  

The crotch-figured mahogany continues on the top and bottom corners of the door which features crystal-cut, V-groove, oval glass.

An illuminated case highlights the brass-finished pendulum and weights that feature a decorative cast pendulum bob and matching weight bands.  Our staff loves designs that highlight the pendulum and weights.  The pendulum is an important part of the clock and helps regulate the speed.  Similarly, the weights are also an important part and are what power the clock.  The middle weight powers the time and the pendulum.  The left weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the hour strikes.  Lastly, the right weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the quarter chimes. We've written an article on how clocks work for some more interesting information.

Complementing overlays accent the multi-tiered base which supports reeded columns with turned column caps.

Howard Miller Stewart Grandfather Clocks showcase the German Kieninger, cable-driven, triple-chime Concerto movement and features three classic chimes: Westminster, Shubert’s Ave Maria and Beethoven’s Ode to Joy. Hear your choice of chime and strike on the hour, with strikes on the 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 hours.  We've written an article on clock chimes for more interesting information and history on these wonderful chimes. 

Automatic nighttime chime shut-off option, which some people love because they don't hear it chime while they sleep.  Yet other people want to hear the clock chime all of the time.  Our experience is that the clock chimes are something that you get used to and will come to enjoy.

Locking door for added security.

Free brass Heirloom nameplate will be engraved with your name and special date.  This is something you can send in for and we definitely recommend.  These grandfather clocks can become heirloom timepieces if properly taken care of and the nameplate will add to the memory for future generations.  

Free Heirloom Record Document with brass-finished capsule is included.  Again, this is another neat idea because this will add more meaning for future generations.
