Description
These German eight-day musical cuckoo clocks feature a man chopping wood in front of his cottage surrounded by hand-carved trees and deer. At the top of every hour the man chops his axe, the waterwheel turns, the dancers revolve, and it plays one of two different twenty-eight note melodies, Edelweiss and the Happy Wanderer.
Three cast iron pinecone weights are suspended beneath the clock case by three separate brass chains. The hand-made pendulum continuously swings back and forth which controls the timing of the clock.
Cuckoo bird calls out the half-hour and counts the hour by cuckooing once per hour. Includes a sound shut-off device beneath the base that disables the cuckoo bird's calls, the woodchopper, waterwheel, and the music.
These cuckoo clocks feature an eight-day German Regula movement and Swiss music box.
Great effort has been made to portray each of these cuckoo clocks as accurately as possible. As with many handmade items, the exact coloration and carving may vary slightly from clock to clock. We consider this to be a special part of their character.
Our Gift of Time clock store has select models of German clocks on display in our showroom and we love showing them to customers and guests at our clock shop.
