Howard Miller Trieste grandfather clocks 611-009 captures the style of Southern European traditions. A multi-tiered, flat-top pediment features canted corners with decorative dentil molding.  The case features a Hampton Cherry finish on select hardwoods and veneers is heavily distressed with light and deep dents for an aged appearance.  This grandfather clock is another favorite of our staff because it has such a nice presence.

The door features an Acanthus overlay with a raised molding framing the door glass, flanked by columns with large reeds and intricately carved column caps.

A brushed antique brass-finished bezel surrounds the soft cream dial, accented with a decorative antique gold-finished center disk. Black Roman numerals and serpentine hands complete the elegant dial.

The brushed antique brass-finished lyre pendulum features a decorative antique gold finished center disk to complement the dial. The weight shells are finished in a matching brushed antique brass.  The pendulum is an important part of the clock and helps regulate the speed.  Similarly, the weights are also an important part and are what power the clock.  The middle weight powers the time and the pendulum.  The left weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the hour strikes.  Lastly, the right weight (as you're facing the clock) powers the quarter chimes.  We've written an article on how clocks work for some more interesting information.

The multi-tiered base features canted corners, detailed moldings, and a bookmatched olive ash burl inset panel in the front.

Front and side glass is beveled for an enhanced appearance. The upper side panels are removable, allowing easy access to the movement.  Our staff loves having easy access to the movement because it is helpful for maintenance.

Automatic nighttime chime shut-off option, which some people love because they don't hear it chime while they sleep.  Yet other people want to hear the clock chime all of the time.  Our experience is that the clock chimes are something that you get used to and will come to enjoy.

Adjustable levelers under each corner of these grandfather clocks provide stability on uneven and carpeted floors.
